Renewal

Licenses issued by the Board expire annually on December 31.

Individual and Corporate License Renewal

The easiest and fastest way to renew is electronically through your NCICLB account. Each license, individual or corporate, has it’s own unique login credentials. Your username is your license number, as it appears on your license card. For corporate accounts, the “C-” will always precede the corporate license number. For example:
Individual username: ###           Corporate username: C-###

If you do not remember your password, you can reset it by clicking on “Forgot Password.” A new temporary password will be sent to the email address on file with the Board.

In order to be eligible to renew for the upcoming licensing year, individual licensees are required to complete and report ten (10) hours of Board approved Continuing Education; six (6) hours of irrigation and four (4) hours of business. Proof of attendance is required to be submitted for each activity. Corporate licenses may be renewed only after the qualifying individual’s renewal has been completed.

After CE requirements have been met, you will be prompted to renew. Complete the surety bond and Public Notice Statement steps before choosing your payment method. You may pay by check or credit card (MasterCard or Visa). If paying by credit card, you will be required to provide the address associated with the credit card bill. Make checks payable to NCICLB and mail to P.O. Box 41421 Raleigh, NC 27629. Your renewal is not complete until payment is received by the Board.

IMPORTANT: If you have a corporate account, be sure to logout upon completion of your individual renewal. You will then be able to go through the renewal process through your corporate account.

Paper Renewal
For those unable to renew electronically, paper forms are available below. Proof of attendance forms are now required with all individual renewals. All renewals sent by US Mail must be postmarked by December 31 in order to avoid paying a late fee. If paying by credit card, forms may be emailed or faxed to the Board office.

License renewal requirements can be found under North Carolina General S tatute § 89G-9.

IF YOU ARE RENEWING LATE FOR YOUR 2022 IRRIGATION LICENSE:

If you have not renewed your irrigation license(s) for 2022, you have until December 31, 2022 to renew. Follow these steps:

  • Print the 2022 individual renewal form and 2022 corporate renewal form if applicable.  You may complete the forms manually or you may type into the form while on the website and then print the form for mailing.
  • Due to Covid-19, continuing education was waived for the 2021 renewal. If you earned continuing education in 2020 you must either report the credits into your web account or include your proof of attendance form(s) with your renewal. Up to six (6) irrigation credits and four (4) business credits  will be rolled over to your 2021 education year in order to renew for 2022.
  • Payment for renewal may be made by check or credit card, Visa and MasterCard only.  All fees may be combined on one check and should be made out to NCICLB. If paying by credit card you may submit your renewal by email or fax to the Board Administrator.
  • Payment must include the $100 renewal fee, per license, and $50.00 late fee, per license.
  • The individual renewal form must be stamped in the bottom right corner with your self-inking or embossing seal. If using an embossing seal, be sure that the imprint is clear enough to read. All licensees are required to have an individual seal per General Statute §89 G, and was required to buy the seal through the Board in order to be licensed.  If you have lost your seal, include an additional $40.00 with your renewal paperwork and the Board will order a new seal for you.  Please indicate on the bottom of your individual renewal form if you prefer self-inking or embossing.  If there is no indication, the Board will automatically order a self-inking stamp.

Wallet size renewal license cards will be mailed within 30 days of receipt of renewal. Also enclosed will be a vehicle decal and order form so that you may buy additional decals for each work vehicle. It is suggested by the Board that all work vehicles have a decal indicating there is a licensed irrigation contractor on site, or are being supervised by a licensed irrigation contractor.

Notice of Penalty for Submittal of Bad Check:
Any person, firm or corporation submitting a check to the Board that is subsequently returned because of insufficient funds will be charged a penalty fee of $25.00 for processing the check. Any license that has been issued based upon the payment of a check that is subsequently returned to the Board for insufficient funds will be declared invalid until such time as the payer has made the check good and paid the prescribed penalty fee.
In order to complete the renewal process, two separate payments must be made. One for the renewal payment and one for the penalty fee, both in the form of a cashier’s check or money order made payable to the NCICLB.
