Renewal

Licenses issued by the Board expire annually on December 31.

NOTE: All 2023 renewals are now considered late, and the licenses associated are REVOKED. If you need assistance with this, please contact the Board office.

Individual and Corporate License Renewal

The easiest and fastest way to renew is electronically through your NCICLB account. Each license, individual or corporate, has it’s own unique login credentials. Your username is your license number, as it appears on your license card. For corporate accounts, the “C-” will always precede the corporate license number. For example:
Individual username: ###          Corporate username: C-###

Instructions for online renewal:

Log in to www.nciclb.org. Your user name is your license number. If you do not know your password, click on “Forgot Your Password.” A temporary password will be emailed to you at the address on file with the Board. If you do not receive the email, remember to check your spam/junk mail. If you still do not see the email, call the Board office for assistance. Once logged in:

  • Click “Renew Your License Now”
  • Ensure your surety bond is valid and active before choosing “Yes” under “Do you have a valid $10,000 Surety Bond?”
  • Read the required Public Notice Statement, certify, and indicate which statement applies to you
  • Choose payment option – either “Pay by Check” or “Pay by Credit Card”
  • Clicking “Pay by Check” will end the online renewal process. Make checks payable to NCICLB and mail to P.O. Box 41421 Raleigh, NC 27629. Your renewal is not complete until payment is received by the Board. *Checks must be postmarked by December 31 in order to avoid the $50 late fee*
    • If you click “Pay by Check” in error and want to pay using your credit card, you will be required to contact the Board office
  • Clicking “Pay by Credit Card” will allow you to enter your card information and pay immediately. You will be required to provide the address associated with the credit card bill. A receipt will be sent via email.

IMPORTANT: If you have a corporate license, be sure to click “Log Out” in order to switch to your corporate account to renew. Your user name for your corporate account is your corporate license number (C-xxx). Again, if you do not know your password, click “Forgot Your Password”. Once logged in, follow the instructions above. *Corporate licenses may be renewed only after the qualifying individual’s renewal has been completed.*

In order to be eligible to renew for the upcoming licensing year, individual licensees are required to complete and report ten (10) hours of Board approved Continuing Education; six (6) hours of irrigation and four (4) hours of business. Proof of attendance is required to be submitted once a licensee has been selected for audit, but you are encouraged to upload proofs into your online account in order to keep track of your documents. After the renewal period has ended, about 10% of licenses will be chosen to be audited.

Instructions for recording continuing education:

  • Log in to your individual account.
  • From the dashboard (welcome) page, click the “Continuing Education” tab
  • Find your course by entering the course number or a “keyword” from the course title, then clicking “search”
  • There may be multiple options to choose from if the course was held on numerous occasions. Make sure to find the course that matches your proof of attendance
  • Click the small box in front of the course you attended, then click “Record CE Hours.” Report additional courses until you have entered all of your hours
  • After recording each course, you will be taken to your continuing education page where you can see all of the courses that you have entered. After all courses have been reported, this page will show a full list of your courses and totals of credits for the year
  • Upload proofs of attendance for each course. Use the “Choose File” box at the bottom of the page to upload the document file. The course for which you are uploading a document will be marked with an arrow to the immediate left, and will read “See below” to the immediate right
  • After CE requirements have been met, you will be prompted to renew

Paper Renewal
For those who are unable to renew electronically, paper forms are available below. CE reporting form or proof of attendance forms are required with all individual renewals. All renewals sent by US Mail must be postmarked by December 31 in order to avoid paying a late fee. If paying by credit card, forms may be emailed or faxed to the Board office.

IF YOU ARE RENEWING LATE FOR YOUR 2023 IRRIGATION LICENSE:

If you have not renewed your irrigation license(s) for 2023, you have until December 31, 2023 to renew. Follow these steps:

  • Print the 2023 individual renewal form and 2023 corporate renewal form if applicable.  You may complete the forms manually or you may type into the form while on the website and then print the form for mailing.
  • At least 6 irrigation hours and 4 business hours of continuing education must be reported before you will be eligible to renew your license. Use the CE reporting form to note courses, and include all proofs of attendance with your renewal form. Rollover credits are not allowed.
    • If continuing education was not earned between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022, licensees have 60 additional days to complete the required education before the license becomes ineligible for renewal. When this 60 additional day period is used to gain CE credit, an additional $250 reinstatement fee will be required upon renewal.
    • If CE is not earned by March 1, 2023, the license will be revoked, and the individual must re-apply for licensure by exam. Don’t let this happen to you! Complete your CE and reinstate as soon as possible!
  • Payment for renewal may be made by check or credit card, Visa and MasterCard only.  All fees may be combined on one check and should be made out to NCICLB. If paying by credit card, you may submit your renewal via mail, email, or fax to the Board Administrator.
  • Payment must include the $100 renewal fee, per license, and $50.00 late fee, per license.
  • The individual renewal form must be stamped in the bottom right corner with your self-inking or embossing seal. If using an embossing seal, be sure that the imprint is clear enough to read. All licensees are required to have an individual seal per General Statute §89 G, and must have purchased a seal through the Board to become licensed.  If you need to order a replacement seal, include an additional $50.oo seal reorder fee with your renewal. Please indicate cat the bottom right of your renewal form which kind of seal you would like to order, self-inking or embossing. The Board will order a new seal for you. If you do not indicate which seal you would like, the Board will order a self-inking stamp.

Wallet size renewal license cards will be mailed within 30 days of receipt of renewal. Also enclosed will be a vehicle decal and order form so that you may buy additional decals for each work vehicle. It is suggested by the Board that all work vehicles have a decal indicating there is a licensed irrigation contractor on the job.

Notice of Penalty for Submittal of Bad Check:
Any person, firm or corporation submitting a check to the Board that is subsequently returned because of insufficient funds will be charged a penalty fee of $25.00 for processing the check. Any license that has been issued based upon the payment of a check that is subsequently returned to the Board for insufficient funds will be declared invalid until such time as the payer has made the check good and paid the prescribed penalty fee.
